If you love beautiful scenery, lots of sunshine, and distinct seasons, you will really love Bend – Central Oregon’s largest town and most popular year round recreation destination.

Bend Oregon weather is notorious for 300 days of sunshine and a full range of seasons throughout the year. The Bend Oregon weather forecast during the winter usually calls for over 27 inches of snow annually in town, and 370 inches at nearby Mount Bachelor, making it a popular destination for skiers, snowboarders, snowmobilers, and snowshoers. A wide range of cool to warm-but-not-too-hot summer temperatures make it a great place for hiking, camping, fishing and biking. In fact, the combination of Bend, OR weather and beautiful Central Oregon scenery has turned many visitors into residents of this high desert town.

Summer in Bend includes plenty of sunshine. The semi-arid climate keeps the humidity and precipitation very low. Daytime temperatures can vary quite a bit, ranging from the mid-40s to low 80s. During July – the hottest month – the average maximum temperature is only about 82 degrees. Always bring a warm jacket, as nighttime frosts may occur.

Famous for its beautiful Indian summers, autumn is one of the best times to visit Bend. Summer tourists are gone and winter tourists have yet to arrive. The days are still pleasantly warm, the nights are cool, and rainfall is minimal.

Bend is typically a winter wonderland with an average 27 inches of snow each year. Average highs during December and January are right around 40 degrees, and average lows hover in the low 20s. However, night time temperatures can get brutally cold, dropping to -5 to -10 degrees. Mount Bachelor, a popular ski area just a few miles from Bend, averages nearly 370 inches of snow annually.

Unlike rainy Western Oregon, the Bend Oregon weather report in the spring typically calls for minimal rain and lots of sunshine. Temperatures can still be cold at times, with average lows of 27 degrees in March, and 36 degrees in May. The average high in May is a pleasant 65 degrees.
