Hoodoo Ski Area

Not many resort owners jump at the opportunity to plow a parking lot, but then again, not many people have heard of a "Hoodoo," either. Hoodoo Ski Area owner Chuck Shepard has no idea how his mountain came to be named after an unrelated rock formation, but he certainly knows how to move snow around. Don't let the small-town feel of Hoodoo Ski Area fool you - this family ski resort in central Oregon gets more snow than Mt. Bachelor and Willamette Pass!

ESCAPE THE CROWDS

Hoodoo Ski Area, located in the Willamette National Forest about 40 miles from Bend, Oregon, attracts a core group of loyal families and local sussers each year. Perhaps the best-kept secret in central Oregon, Hoodoo offers solace from the hustle and bustle of the larger ski areas in the region. With just five lifts accessing 1,035 vertical feet of light, dusty powder and terrific terrain, both groomed and off-piste, Hoodoo is a true nugget waiting to be discovered!

Located at the top of Santiam Pass on Highway 20, Hoodoo Ski Area looks out from an elevation of 5,703 feet at commanding views of the Three Sisters Wilderness Area, Mt. Jefferson, and the rocky slopes of Three-Fingered Jack. This environmentally-friendly ski resort blends charming, family-friendly amenities, like a five acre tubing park, with access to steep expert terrain and chin-deep powder on the ungroomed backside of the mountain. Add night-skiing and 15.8 km. of beginner to advanced-level Nordic trails, and you have yourself a truly jam-packed vacation, without the lift-lines!
