Bend WinterFest

For a weekend of fantastic winter fun plan on attending the annual Bend Winterfest produced each February in Bend, Oregon. This is a great winter carnival which has been celebrated annually since 2000 . This unique winter activity attracts nearly 20,000 visitors each year and is fast becoming the "must attend" festival in the winter in Central Oregon.

A variety of winter fun activities and recreation for all ages.

One of the best things about winter is it provides hard-core riders a chance to catch some big air. Thrill seekers and spectators alike can appreciate the demonstration of speed and height. It has become the President’s Day destination event for tourists from San Francisco to Seattle and beyond.

Bend WinterFest features the biggest off-mountain rail jam west of the Mississippi. You can also catch a performance by freestyle motocross team Metal Mulisha, featuring sick tricks and death-defying stunts.

Details: The many and varied activities associated with Winterfest begin on Friday evening when families who have arrived in town can enjoy the fireworks. Afterward, adult visitors can venture into downtown Bend and taste a variety of wines.

Saturday can be filled with ice carving competitions downtown and either participating in or cheering on those who are crazy enough to dive into the Deschutes River as part of the Polar Plunge. Then stroll through the Winterfest Marketplace and beer gardens. Formulate a plan with your family for the snowman-building contest. Everyone can enjoy a wonderful and tasty dinner together and then go on to enjoy great entertainment at one of the evening venues.

Top off the weekend by enjoying ice skating or the work of various artists as they ply their craft downtown. The final ceremonies include the drawing for a car – who knows you might be driving home in a brand new ride!
