Bend lies near Deschutes National Forest, east of Eugene Oregon, at the intersection of U.S. Routes 97 and 20.

What are the closest major cities and distances?
Eugene, Oregon is located west of Bend about 117 miles (a two-hour and 26 minute drive).
Portland, Oregon is located 175.5 miles northwest (3 hours and 18 minutes of driving time).

Where are the closest airports and distances?
The closest airport is Roberts Field in Redmond, which is 18 miles north. Skywest (both United Express and Delta Connection), Horizon and Allegiant Airlines serve this airport. Portland International Airport is about 160 miles away with all major airlines available.

What is the average temperature?
With the high desert environment, you’ll find cool nights and sun-filled days. Summer days average in the 80s, the nights in the high 40s. Winters average in the 40s during the days and nights in the 20s.

If you go to the Funny Farm in Bend, you will find a Bowling Ball Garden and a gift shop where you can buy bowling ball seeds.
Within the city limits there is a cinder cone volcano, called Pilot Butte, where the cone rises almost 500 feet above the surrounding plains.
